Steve Cohen, M.A., LMFT is the founder of Decision Point Counseling. Steve has been married for more than 30 years and has four children.
In addition to maintaining a private practice for more than 25 years, Steve has worked in residential, partial hospitalzation, and in-patient psychiatric facilities as well as provided Employee Assistance Program counseling to federal agencies.
Prior to providing counseling and therapy services, Steve served as an Associate Pastor for more than nine years overseeing College & Career, Youth and Christian Education ministries for the Bellflower Brethren Church in Bellflower, California.
Steve has a particular passion for helping couples develop strong, committed, and satisfying relationships and continues to seek the best ways to help couples achieve meaningful improvement in their relationships. He is also a trained mediator and has extensive experience consulting managers and supervisors deal with employee relations matters, having worked as Co-Director Human Resources, U.S. District Court for nearly 19 years Steve loves to teach and is more than willing to speak for your organization or retreat upon request.
Steve received a B.A. Degree in Physical Education from BIOLA University; a M.A. Degree in Christian Education from the Talbot School of Theology; and a M.A. Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from The California Family Study Center (now known as The Phillips Institute). He has been licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners since 1992 as a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist.
